Title:  Project Management - Quality Projects and Initiatives

Overall Purpose:
Quality Improvement in healthcare doesn't happen by
chance.  Improvement only occurs through carefully planned
and organized effort monitored by Project Management. This
activity presents an overview of Project Management skills
applicable to quality improvement in healthcare.

Nurses with detailed knowledge of project management skills
will be able to contribute to healthcare quality improvement at
their workplace.  This knowledge can also be utilized during
the nurse’s career development while pursuing certification in
healthcare quality (CPHQ).

Objectives:
After studying the materials, the learner will be able to
  • Identify steps in project management.
  • Select at least one project management tool to use in
    future projects at the home facility.

This course takes approximately 1 hour  to complete and
offers 1.0 contact hour for successful completion.

a downloaded, self-directed computer based module.
